How to install a water softener?

The water softener is a container of cationic resins, which, when passing water, have the property of retaining the limestone present inside. When the resins saturate, a backwash is carried out to regenerate the resins. At the end of backwashing the water softener is ready for a new filtration cycle. Backwashing is carried out automatically by the softener that aspirates the brine (mixture of water and salt) from a special vat, to put it inside the softener and then expel it directly into the drainage system. After choosing the water softener that best suits your needs, you need to go to the installation.

1)Pressure gauge: for a correct operation of the water softener, the pressure must be kept at least 2 bar and must not exceed 6 bar.
2)Filtration system: which in addition to ensuring cleaner water and a higher yield of the resins, prevents the locking of the control valve pistons (due to sand or debris).
3)Manual by-pass system: it serves in case of breakdown, maintenance or anomalies, to bypass the device dedicated to filtration or water treatment according to the law n.443 21/12/90.
4)By-pass system: to regulate the hardness of the outlet water, this hardness for potable uses must keep within 15° f.
5)Water sampling system: you have the possibility to check in real time the difference in limestone concentration between the inlet (from the water supply) and the water outlet (for the house system).
6)A container for brine: (water and salt) equipped with a filter panel for a perfectly clean solution. During the backwashing process of the softener, the brine is sucked by the softener and passes through the resins (in this cycle the volume of the resins expands up to 50% of the original volume).
During this step it attracts to itself all the limestone particles that the resins have previously retained. At the end of the cycle the resins are reconditioned and ready for another water softening cycle.
7)A chlorine-based resin disinfectant: it is produced by an electrolysis process carried out on the brine (water and salt contained inside the vat).
