How to choose a presscontrol?

dimensionamento presscontrol

According to physics:
Each vertical meter of water column is equivalent to 0.1Bar, (and therefore 10 meters water column are equivalent to 1Bar)

You must know that:
1) The point of use is equivalent to the difference in height (the vertical height) between the pump and the taps to supply.
2) The max pump pressure is measured with OFF taps.
3) The work pressure of the pump is measured with ON taps.
4) The restart pump pressure is reached when the electric pump turns ON.
5) A domestic taps consumes 12 L/min ca.
The wc plastic tank needs 5 L/min ca. to be filled.
A standart WC flow-meter recive 65 L/min ca.

In order to combine a presscontrol with an electric pump, three conditions must be met.

1) The maximum capacity of the presscontrol must be compatible with the maximum capacity of the users, and the maximum capacity of the electric pump.
Following are the flow rates of the presscontrol, without excessive loss of load:
A 1 "presscontrol carries on average max 100 liters per minute.
A 1 "1/4 presscontrol carries an average max 150 liters per minute.

2) The pre-set (or to be set) restart pressure of the presscontrol must be at least 0.5Bar higher than the pressure determined by the piping, where the electric pump is installed (the pressure determined by the pipeline is equivalent to the correspondence in bar of the full column of water)

Pressure of restart of the presscontrol = 0,5Bar + Value in bar of pressurized water on the electric pump.

3) The maximum pressure of the electric pump must be at least 1.5Bar higher than the restart pressure set in the presscontrol;
Press. Max electric pump = Minimum 1.5 bar + Value in electric pump restart bar.

Example of a serviceable plant (30 meters high water system)
In the following diagram an example of the hypothetical pressures of a water system

In this example, the pump starts when the minimum (restart) pressure reaches 3.5 Bar. The more water flows out of the taps, the lower is the working pressure; less taps are opened and the working pressure will be higher.
When the taps are completely closed, the pump reaches the maximum pressure (in this case 5.5Bar), and the flow and the pump stop.

Example of an un-serviceable plant (30 meters high water system)
In the following diagram an example of the hypothetical pressures of an unusable water system

The using point of this system is 30 meters = 3Bar. Therefore, while keeping the tap open, and even using an adequate pressure electric pump, the presscontrol (set to 1.5Bar) does not have sufficient sensitivity to read the pressure variation and turnON the pump.

Example of a serviceable plant (16 meters high water system)
In the following diagram an example of the hypothetical pressures of a water system

In this example, the pump starts when the minimum (restart) pressure reaches 2.2 Bar. The more water flows out of the taps, the lower is the working pressure; less taps are opened and the working pressure will be higher.
When the taps are completely closed, the pump reaches the maximum pressure (in this case 4.1 Bar), and the flow and the pump stop.

Example of an un-serviceable plant (16 meters high water system)
In the following diagram an example of the hypothetical pressures of an unusable water system

The using point of this system is 16 meters = 1,6 Bar. Therefore, while keeping the tap open, and even using an adequate pressure electric pump, the presscontrol (set to 1.5Bar) does not have sufficient sensitivity to read the pressure variation and turnON the pump.
