Hydrocyclones, also known as sand separator, are simple and functional machines. The operating principle on which they are based it is the hydrocyconic force generated within the truncated conical filter. Water and solids enter the product and begin traveling in a circular flow.  The centrifugal action forces heavier particles downward in a spiral motion to the separation chamber. These particles collect in the separation chamber and there are purged from the machine. They are ideal for situations where a pile of sand, is present in water. 

N.B. it is advisable to select a hydrocyclone with the flow rates as close as possible to the real needs.
