How do water pressure switches work?

 

The pumps starts & stops can be managed in different ways: the most common device is the Pressure controller also called Pressure Switch; because it is a form of switch that closes an electrical contact when a certain set pressure has been reached on its input. The specific pressure that opens and closes the switch is named the set point. Many residential pressure switches are already set.
The pressure controller can simultaneously detecting both the pressure and the flow, as well as automatically managing the pump operation. 

The pressure controller replaces the traditional vassel pressure system. It starts and stops the pump in accordance with the opening and closing of the taps. The pressure switch is also a protection device. It turns off in the case of no water to protect the pump from dry running.
